Age limits

We have a wide range of bouncy castles and other inflatables for hire to suit all aged. Please check the description carefully to make sure your hire is suitable for your guests. Most bouncy castles are only suitable for children up to 12 years old, however we do have stronger, larger inflatables that can take adults too.

If you are in any doubt, please contact us to double check before you book to avoid disappointment on the day.

Safety advice

Your polite, professional set-up team will give you a full safety briefing before they leave, so you know exactly how to operate your inflatable safely and what precautions you need to take, such as removing shoes before bouncing and the maximum number of bouncers allowed.

Please note that all equipment must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times during use. For larger events, we can supply fully trained staff to supervise your hire equipment on your behalf.

Venue requirements

You will find the size of your hire equipment in the product description, along with the space required. As a general rule, you need to leave 4ft at the rear for the blower and 4ft at the front for safe access, as well as 2ft either side. A list of appropriate surfaces is shown alongside each product.

For indoor use, please check the height restrictions carefully and make sure you have sufficient ceiling clearance. If the product will not fit safely in the desired location, we will endeavour to locate it elsewhere, but if a suitable site is not available, we will not be able to set up your hire.

If you have any questions about the suitability of your location, please do not hesitate to ask.

Parking

When booking with The Edinburgh Event Company you must supply a parking space to unload and set equipment up and sufficient parking for any event staff who will be staying with you. This could include supplying a visitors parking pass or paying for parking at a meter. Please check that there is safe and legal parking available, because if there isn’t, and our driver receives a parking ticket, it will be your responsibility to pay it. If there is no parking arranged and your event is on a red route we will have no choice but to return to base without delivering and full payment will still be due. In the unfortunate event we received a parking ticket in a loading bay we will always try to appeal it but if unsuccessful we will then have to pay it and send you an invoice for that amount.

Insurance

The Edinburgh event Company has comprehensive public liability insurance up to £5million to cover any accidents or incidents that are our fault. However, if you are charging customers to use the equipment, such as at a charity fair or fete, you will need to arrange your own public liability cover in addition to this.

If you are hiring overnight, you must have insurance to cover theft or criminal damage to equipment while it is unattended. Our team will be happy to advise you on the cover you need and where you can get it.

Bookings and cancellations

When you book you have the choice of paying in full, or paying a non-refundable £25 deposit to secure your booking, Booking's over £300 will require 50% deposit with the balance due ten days before delivery. All event over £1500 will need to be paid in full 4 weeks before the event day. If you need to change the date or details of your booking, please let us know as soon as possible and we will do everything we can to accommodate you.

If you need to cancel your event, the following charges will apply:

  • Cancellation within 8 weeks: 25% of total order
  • Cancellation within 4 weeks: 50%
  • Cancellation within 2 weeks: 75%
  • Cancellation within 1 week: 100% of total order payment

Please pay promptly for your order. We reserve the right to add interest to late payments beyond 8 weeks, back-dated to the event date.

Problems and refunds

We want your event to be a complete success, so please let us know about any problems or issues as soon as possible so that we can put them right promptly and you can get on with enjoying your party.

In the unlikely event of a major complaint, please let us know within 24hours so that we can investigate and arrange a refund if necessary.

Weather issues

Weather forecasts are very accurate these days, so you should not get caught out unexpectedly. If the weather is not looking good, you can either move your event indoors, or talk to us about rescheduling your booking.

All our bouncy castles have built-in shower covers, and are not water proof but if you do decide to postpone or abandon your event on the day, we will not be able to issue a refund. In the event of high winds exceeding 24 miles an hour we will cancel your event and refund any monies if you don't want to reschedule.

Waiting times

We will not wait any longer than 15 minutes for you to turn up at the venue or your house. If your event is in a venue we will set up if we can get access if we can't get access we will inform you of this and give you the 15 minutes.
